Drunk at Daxton Hotel refuses to pay up

A man tried to charge his almost $300 bar tab to his room at the Daxton Hotel on Friday, June 17, however, he was not a hotel guest.

Birmingham police were called to the Daxton, 300 S. Old Woodward Avenue, on a report of someone refusing to pay their tab. The individual, a 41-year-old male from White Lake, repeatedly attempted to charge his tab to a room in the hotel. However, hotel staff confirmed the individual was not a guest at the hotel and attempted to collect payment from him multiple times.

The total bar tab was $289.38.

Birmingham police arrested the man for defrauding an innkeeper.
