Female Daxton employee assaulted by guest

A drunk guest at the Daxton Hotel, 300 S. Old Woodward Avenue in Birmingham, allegedly assaulted an employee of the hotel on the sidewalk in front of the hotel on Saturday, June 11, the employee reported to police.

Birmingham police officers were called to the Daxton Hotel on Sunday, June 12, to take an assault and battery report. The officers met with the victim, a 25-year-old Daxton employee, who reported she had been assaulted by a guest on the sidewalk in front of the property around 9:30 p.m. the previous evening. The employee reported the guest had been over-served and was asked to leave the premises, at which point he became vulgar and grabbed her wrist.

The guest left the area on foot after the incident.
