Jewelry missing from Birmingham apartment

About $1,300 in jewelry was reported missing on Friday, April 29, by a Birmingham resident in the 100 block of Elm Street, police said.


Birmingham police responded about 4:30 p.m. to the area to speak with the victim, a 96-year-old Birmingham resident. The victim told police that jewelry and other items were missing from her apartment. The victim said multiple people visit her home for caretaking, cleaning and assistance.


Birmingham police said the incident is under investigation.
