Lawn maintenance equipment targeted by thieves

While lawn maintenance workers are out doing their jobs, thieves are targeting their equipment, according to two reports to Birmingham police.

On Wednesday, July 20, around 1 p.m., a lawn crew reported to police that they had equipment stolen from the bed of a landscape pickup truck while they were working at a residence in the 400 block of Catalpa.

In another incident, on Monday July 25, at 10 a.m., a lawn crew reported they had equipment stolen from the bed of a landscaper's pickup truck while working at a residence in the 1300 block of Washington.

Birmingham police report both incidences are under investigation.
