Man arrested for masturbating by side of road

A witness trying to make sure Gregory Benson wasn’t hurt or injured was in for a surprise on Monday, April 8.

After seeing the 52-year-old lying in the ditch on Opdyke Road, he turned around to check on him. Benson then started walking towards him with his pants down and genitals out. He had been masturbating in the ditch. 

Bloomfield Township police were dispatched to the area after receiving reports of Benson wearing a khaki coat and khaki pants, and that he was masturbating on the side of the road. He was then placed under arrest for indecent exposure, and transported to the Bloomfield Township Police Department, where he was booked and fingerprinted.

Benson has several warrants out of other police departments for offenses including burglary, retail fraud, disorderly person and open intoxicants.

He is currently lodged at the Oakland County Jail after being arraigned at the 48th District Court, where he was issued a $10,000 cash/surety bond.
