Porch pirates swap packages at home on Ruffner

An item worth $250 was stolen from the front porch of a home in the 900 block of Ruffner in Birmingham on Saturday, December 2, and was replaced with another package.

The victim told police that he was expecting the package to be delivered by UPS around 8 p.m. When he got home and opened the package around 9 p.m., he saw that the package wasn’t what he ordered.

The Ppolice report indicates that the correct package was stolen from the porch. An investigation is underway, according to Birmingham police.
