Teens steal Segway in downtown Birmingham

A woman who had parked her Segway electric scooter outside Eli Tea Bar, 108 S. Woodward, while she went into Leo's Coney Island, returned to discover it was missing.


The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 3, the woman told Birmingham police.


Witnesses reported to officers that they had seen two individuals, described as teenage males, driving the Segway away.


The woman later contacted Birmingham police that she had found her Segway parked on Merrill Street.
