Unlocked car stolen from home on Humphrey

A Birmingham police officer responded to a report of a vehicle stolen from the front of a residence on the 1800 block of Humphrey Road on Saturday, September 10.

The victim told police that the car was left unlocked and both sets of keys, as well as several items totaling roughly $5,000, were left inside. A witness reported hearing the car door close loudly around 6 a.m. before the vehicle was driven away, followed by another vehicle with its headlights off.

The Detroit Police Department later located and recovered the vehicle. Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
