Witness see stolen auto driven down Fairview

:

A neighbor reportedly saw a vehicle after it was stolen in the 1700 block of Fairfax in Birmingham around 3 a.m. Thursday, June 16.

A 48-year-old resident reported to Birmingham police that his vehicle had been taken from the street in front of his home overnight. Officers spoke to a witness who reported seeing the victim's vehicle's lights turn on around 2:50 a.m. and then the vehicle was driven west down Fairview.

The victim was unable to locate one of the vehicle's keys and did not remember if it was in the vehicle at the time it was stolen.

The incident is believed to be tied to a string of similar incidents that have occurred in the area.
