Woman sexually assaulted by next door neighbor

Maher Haddad

A Bloomfield Township man was arrested on Thursday, February 9, for allegedly breaking into a neighbor’s home and sexually assaulting her in her bedroom, police said.

Bloomfield Township police said officers responded about 11 p.m. to the 700 block of Fox Hills Drive where a woman said she woke up to one of her neighbor's standing over her bed. Police identified the suspect as Maher Haddad, 47, who lives at an adjacent condominium building. The victim told police she yelled for the suspect to leave, at which point he laid next to her on the bed and began kissing her neck and touching her inappropriately. Police said the victim was able to lead the suspect toward the front door and out of the residence.

Officers arrived to find Haddad at his own residence. He was arrested on suspicion of home invasion and criminal sexual conduct, and was booked into the Oakland County Jail and held on a $100,000/10-percent cash/surety bond.
