Woman steals cart full of goods from At Home
A woman stole a cart worth $115 of merchandise from At Home in Bloomfield Township on Monday, July 3, while she also tried to fraudulently return a mirror.
Bloomfield Township police were called to the At Home store located 2101 S. Telegraph Road for a retail fraud that happened earlier that day. Employees at the store told officers that a 45-year-old white woman, approximately five-feet tall, weighing 190 pounds, entered the store and filled a shopping cart with merchandise, including a mirror.
The suspect then proceeded to the check out register and attempted to return the mirror, worth $129.99, with an old faded receipt. The employee requested the suspect's driver's license in an attempt to identify her. The suspect began to argue with the employee, and then left the mirror at the register, stating that she was going to get her license from her car. She then left the store with the cart full of merchandise.
The suspect proceeded to flee the store and no suspect vehicle was seen.
The suspect got away with about $115 worth of merchandise which was in the shopping cart.
Bloomfield Township police report the case is currently under investigation by the investigations unit. Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the department's non-emergency line at 248.433.7755.
