Man hospitalized after assault in Rochester

Rochester police are asking for the public's help in identifying several people involved in a physical altercation on Saturday, September 9, near West Alley and Walnut that left one person hospitalized.

Rochester Police Chief Steven Schettenhelm said a verbal altercation occurred about 2 a.m. in the area. That incident, he said, escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in several people being assaulted and one victim being transported to the hospital.

Police didn't give further details of the incident, but did released a photo of the people believed to be involved that was taken from security footage.

The Rochester Police Department asked that anyone able to identify the subjects contact the police department's detective bureau at 248.651.9621.

The photo shows three white males that appear to be in their mid-20s, two of whom are wearing baseball caps. The photo and security footage is available on the department's Facebook page.
