Items stolen from unlocked car in daytime

A Sterling Heights man on Thursday, September 21, was the victim of a theft when an unknown person entered his car and stole two iPod devices in the 1400 block of E. Hamlin Road in Rochester Hills, police said.

The victim told an Oakland County sheriff's deputy he was attending a work function at Bordon Park, 1400 E. Hamlin in Rochester Hills, when the incident occurred sometime between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.

The victim said he had a 32-gig iPod and an 128-gig iPod in his 2014 Kia, which was unlocked, when someone entered the vehicle and stole the items. Also stolen was a bottle of unidentified cologne.

The value of the items was estimated at $840.
