More furniture offerings

Art Van Furniture will be expanding its offerings in Rochester Hills in the second half of 2018, with the planned opening of an Art Van Furniture Center, 1100 S. Rochester Road, near Avon and Rochester roads. The new store will be located in the former K-Mart location, which closed at the end of 2014. Diane Charles, vice president of corporate communications for Art Van, said the 48,000-square-foot location will employ about 45 employees, with plans to retain the Art Van Flooring Center, 1850 S. Rochester Road, in Rochester Hills, and Art Van PureSleep, 1856 Rochester Road, in Rochester. “We recognize Rochester Hills as a premier market in southeast Michigan, and that our customers didn’t have a convenient location to shop near them,” she said. “After searching the market for a number of years, we found an excellent location in the redevelopment project of the old K-mart. We are very excited to be opening soon in Rochester Hills.”
