Credit card information stolen

A Rochester Hills resident on Thursday, March 1, told authorities that an unknown person used his credit card information to purchase more than $300 in goods and services without his permission.

The victim told a deputy at the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Rochester Hills substation that he received a notification the previous day that there was suspicious activity on a credit card account he maintains. The man was told the activity included a charge of $6.98 from Comcast, $104.95 at GameStop and $189.21 at a Kohl's store in Taylor. The victim said he didn't make or authorize any of the purchases.

The card was subsequently cancelled by the bank, and the issuing agency requested a formal police report.
