Vehicle drives on residential lawn

A Rochester Hills resident on Monday, March 5, told authorities an unknown driver drove onto his lawn in the 500 block of Placid Court and caused minor damage to his grass.

The victim told Oakland County Sheriff's deputies he was at home about 9:15 p.m. when he noticed headlights coming toward his home. The victim said he was looking out the window when a sports utility vehicle accelerated toward the house and drove onto his lawn. The vehicle then sped away and headed onto Sheldon Road.

A deputy who responded to the scene found some indentations on the grass and tire marks on the sidewalk.

The victim told deputies there have been previous incidents on the street with younger drivers doing "burnouts" in the area.
