YaYa's Chicken becoming RH House restaurant

A former YaYa's Chicken restaurant at Crooks and M-59 will be redeveloped into a family restaurant that plans to serve alcoholic beverages.

The Rochester Hills Planning Commission on Tuesday, March 20, approved site plans for RH House, 2630 Crooks Road, just south of M-59. The commissioners also recommended city council approve a special use at the site that would be needed for acquiring a liquor license.

Plans for the 4,411-square-foot restaurant include removing a drive-through operation and adding an outdoor seating area, according to the applicant, Mike Pizzola, of Designhaus Architecture.

Conditional use approval will be considered by the Rochester Hills City Council at a future date. In reviewing special use requests for alcoholic beverage sales, council typically requires applicants to provide additional information about the restaurant's business plan, fare and other relevant details.
