Rochester Hills death in motel investigated

The death of a 50-year-old Sterling Heights man found dead in a Rochester Hills motel room is being investigated by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's deputies and paramedics were called about 10:48 a.m. on Monday, April 9, to the report of an unresponsive man at the Red Roof Inn, 2580 Crooks. The caller said that the man was found by housekeeping personnel when they entered the room to clean it.

Housekeeping advised they hadn't heard from the man since the previous day. Deputies arrived at the scene and discovered the man in bed, obviously deceased. The man had been staying at the motel since Saturday, April 7.

There were no signs of foul play.

A detective and investigator from the sheriff's office responded to the scene. An autopsy was scheduled.

The case is under investigation.
