Outdoor store closing

The Birmingham location of BackCountry North, 284 W. Maple Road, at the corner of Willits, is holding a liquidation sale after announcing they are closing this location. According to sales personnel at the store, the closing is precipitated by a substantial increase in the rent by their landlord, which was unsustainable. BackCountry North has another location, at 227 E. Front Street, in Traverse City, which will remain open. The Birmingham store is scheduled to close by the end of May.
