Woman arrested for shoplifting diapers

A 22-year-old Rochester Hills woman accused of stealing baby supplies was arrested on Thursday, April 5, in connection with retail fraud at a Rochester Hills store, authorities said.

An Oakland County sheriff's deputy was dispatched about 4:35 p.m. to Meijer, 3175 S. Rochester Road, for a report of a shoplifter. Store security said the woman was at a self checkout and failed to ring up two boxes of diapers and a box of baby wipes, but paid for the rest of the items in her cart.

The woman was stopped as she attempted to exit the store. She told store security she forgot to pay for the items. A two-year-old child who was with the woman was placed in the temporary custody of the woman's mother.
