Thousands in charges made to lost credit card

A lost credit card tied to a shared credit account by a Rochester Hills woman and her sister was apparently used to make several thousand dollars worth of purchases from Best Buy, authorities said.

The victim, who is originally from Brazil, told sheriff's deputies her sister was in town visiting from Brazil and apparently lost her credit card. She reported charges were made between Wednesday, April 18, and Friday, April 20. The victim said the card is tied to a shared account that she and her sister have access to. She said about $4,037 in charges were made to the account after her sister left Rochester Hills.

The victim contacted her sister, who said she never made the charges and that she must have lost her card when in town.
