Thieves target car outside Rochester Hills gym

Thieves on Monday, April 30, broke into a car and stole a purse from a vehicle parked at Life Time Fitness, 200 W. Avon, in Rochester Hills, authorities said.

The victim, 19, of Rochester Hills, told the Oakland County Sheriff's office that she parked her car at the fitness center around 9:30 p.m. and came out about an hour later to find that someone had broken the rear driver's side window on her 2010 Toyota Camry.

The victim said her purse, which contained about $100 cash, was stolen from the vehicle.

Deputies spoke with management at the facility and obtained surveillance photos.

The incident is under investigation.
