Vehicle break-in stopped in time

An attempted break-in on Thursday, May 12, to a vehicle parked in the 1300 block of Kentfield in Rochester was stopped after residents chased the thief away.

Rochester police responding about 10:40 p.m. to the report of an attempted break-in arrived to speak to the residents who said they had been home and heard a loud noise outside. The residents said they went outside to investigate the noise and noticed a young, white male attempting to break into a vehicle.

The callers said they chased the male away from the scene.

Rochester Police report that the incident is under investigation.
