Promise ring stolen from vehicle

A Rochester Hills couple enjoying a swim on Sunday, May 27 at a Rochester Hills apartment complex in the 200 block of Hampton Circle were the victims of a theft, authorities said.

The victim, a 24-year-old Rochester Hills woman, told Oakland County Sheriff's deputies she and her boyfriend were at the swimming pool at the Hampton Apartments when her promise ring was stolen from his 2018 Chevrolet Silverado.

The woman told the sheriff's office she left her ring in the cup holder of the vehicle before swimming. She said the doors of the vehicle were locked, but the windows were left down between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m.

The couple returned to the vehicle to discover the ring missing. The ring was valued at $290.
