Traffic stop leads to arrest for child neglect

A 42-year-old Troy woman was arrested on Tuesday, May 29, in connection with child neglect following a traffic stop near M-59 and Crooks in Rochester Hills, authorities said.

An Oakland County Sheriff's Office deputy patrolling the area about 9:54 p.m. observed the woman stopped on Crooks after exiting M-59 in a 2000 GMC Sierra pickup. After running the truck's license plate, the deputy discovered the plate wasn't registered to the vehicle. The deputy then conducted a traffic stop.

While the driver was able to provide the deputy with the proper registration for the vehicle, the plate wasn't registered to the truck. While checking the driver's information, the deputy determined she was wanted on an unrelated warrant for child neglect issued out of Macomb County.

The woman was arrested and transported to the Oakland County Jail pending transfer to Macomb County.
