Motorcyclist killed in Rochester Hills crash

A 63-year-old Warren woman died on Wednesday, June 13, from injuries she received when her motorcycle was struck by an adjacent vehicle on eastbound M-59, near John R, in Rochester Hills.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said the woman, whose name had not yet been released, was driving her 2005 Harley Davidson in the center lane about 9:38 p.m. when a 21-year-old Sterling Heights woman in a 2012 Hyundai Accent changed lanes and struck the motorcycle.

The victim was transported by the Rochester Hills Fire Department to Troy Beaumont Hospital, where she died.

The driver of the Hyundai wasn't injured.

Crash investigators said the victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and that alcohol or drugs aren't believed to be a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
