Thieves steal air conditioner from home

A Rochester Hills resident told authorities a central air conditioner unit was stolen sometime between Friday, June 8, and Friday, June 15, from his property in the 2800 block of John R.

The Oakland County Sherif's Office Rochester substation said the man informed deputies he is selling the home and it is currently vacant.

The victim had been at the home on June 8 to cut the lawn and didn't notice anything out of place. However, he discovered the air conditioning unit on the north side of the home was missing when he returned to cut the lawn a week later.

Deputies said an unknown person cut wiring and copper tubing where the unit was located. There were no signs of forced entry into the home.

The victim said several people had been through the home, as it is for sale.

Deputies are investigating.
