White Lake woman cited for shoplifting
A 42-year-old White Lake woman was cited for retail fraud on Monday, June 25, after allegedly getting caught shoplifting from a Rochester Hills Walmart store, authorities said. An Oakland County sheriff's deputy responded about 4:32 p.m. to the report of a theft at Walmart, 2500 S. Adams, to speak with loss prevention employees and a woman they alleged tried to steal about $118 in clothing. The employees said the woman was observed in the women's section with a large empty purse, in which she placed several articles of clothing. They said the woman then attempted to leave the store without paying, and was stopped before exiting. The woman told the deputy she went to the store intending to purchase a pair of black pants to wear to a job she recently got, but "things got out of hand," and she ended up trying to take additional items. The woman was taken to the sheriff's office substation in Rochester Hills where she was fingerprinted, processed and cited for retail fraud, and then released.
