Tickets available for annual farm-to-table dinner

Tickets are available for a special al fresco dining event on Sunday, July, 22 in downtown Rochester for the third annual Farm-to-Table Dinner sponsored by the Rochester Downtown Development Authority (DDA). The event, which is intended to benefit DDA events and promotions, features a three-course dinner, with wine, beer and entertainment. The dinner event is sponsored by The Meeting House and the DDA. "I can't tell you how excited we are at The Meeting House to be part of the Farm-to-Table Dinner Series. It's really what we base our menus on every day," said Chris Johnson, co-owner and executive chef of The Meeting House. "I'm happy to bring attention to our awesome downtown and to the farmers that are the lifeblood of our restaurants. And when else can you close down a road to serve dinner for 100 people? I can't wait." This year's menu features sauteed rock shrimp and lobster cakes, tournedos of beef tenderloin with chimichurri, lightly smoked oven steamed salmon with charred lemon hollandaise, tomato pie and peach cobbler with vanilla, honey and sweet dumplings, and other offerings. All dishes are served family style. The menu includes assorted Michigan wines and craft beers. The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. on Walnut Boulevard, between Second Street and Third Street. Tickets are $100 per person and include a three-course dinner, beer, wine and entertainment. For more information, visit downtownrochestermi.com/store or call the DDA at 248.656.0060.
