Man in underwear attempts break-in
Oakland County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating an attempted break-in on Sunday, July 1, involving a man wearing only underwear at a home in the 900 block of Majestic in Rochester Hills. Deputies responded about 6:24 a.m. to a 911 call from a resident who said a man wearing only boxer shorts was trying to break the glass of a door at the rear of the home. The caller said the man had a T-shirt wrapped around his hand and was trying to break through a glass pane while others at the home were holding the door shut and yelling for the man to leave. Authorities said a man and woman, both 53, as well as a 26-year-old woman and 24-year-old man were home at the time of the attempted break-in. The caller said one of the residents opened a second-story window above the suspect and told him they were going to get their gun. The man then ran to the front yard where he attempted to get into a gray, 2018 Porsche Macan parked in the street. The caller said the door of the SUV was locked, and the man then ran away. Sheriff's deputies and a K-9 unit responded to the incident. Deputies were unable to track the man. A check of the vehicle's license plate revealed it is owned by a car dealership in Birmingham and was loaned to a man who had brought his vehicle in for repair. The vehicle was impounded. Detectives believe the suspect to be a 27-year-old Auburn Hills man.
