Village of Rochester Hills to host Fine Art

The annual Fine Art at the Village of Rochester Hills will transform the shopping center into an outdoor art gallery on Saturday, August 4, and Sunday, August 5. More than 100 artists from across the country have been invited to show their work at the annual art show. An outside panel of experts juried entries and asked the artists with the highest scores to participate. The festival includes artwork of every media, including ceramics, glass, painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, photography, fiber art, wood, jewelry and more. The Village Fine Art Gallery sponsors the juried art festival. Artists' booths will fill the main street of the Village, as well as the side streets. Traffic will be closed through the center of the Village. Free parking is available on the outer rim of the show. "We believe the beautiful and relaxed atmosphere of the Village of Rochester Hills is the perfect setting to view artwork of this caliber and meet artists, said Donna Beaubien, executive director of the festival. "Along with enjoying the exciting fine art and fine crafts, patrons can stroll the tree lined streets and visit the over 50 intriguing shop and restaurants. Children can enjoy the playground and participate in the free arts and crafts activities." This year's event will feature live artists' demonstrations, as well as special children's activities on both days. The Rochester Hills Public Library also will have a special demonstration booth featuring 3D printing, and a food court will offer food and beverages for sale. Festival hours will run from 10 a.m. to 8 pm. on Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
