Money stolen from store cash register

An employee at a Rochester Hills sub shop on Monday, August 13, was arrested in connection with the theft of a $100 bill from the cash register of the restaurant in the 3100 block of S. Rochester Road.

An Oakland County sheriff's deputy responding about 12:12 p.m. to the report of an embezzlement incident at DiBella's Subs, 3117 S. Rochester Road, spoke with a manager at the shop who said the register was short $100 on a shift. The manager then reviewed security footage of the register and said an employee could be seen taking a $100 bill out and placing it in his left pocket.

The manager told the deputy the employee was confronted about the incident and admitted to taking the money.

The employee was arrested by the sheriff's office and cited for embezzlement and released without incident.
