Man wanted for resisting capture evades police
A Rochester Hills man wanted in connection with resisting and obstructing a police officer was able to evade sheriff's deputies attempting to take him into custody on the evening of Friday, August 24, in the 1700 block of Bedford Square in Rochester Hills. The sheriff's office said deputies were attempting to execute an arrest warrant about 8 p.m. in the 1700 block of Bedford Square for a wanted felon living at the residence. The sheriff's office said the man also was wanted for violating a court ordered "zero tolerance program." "When deputies approached the residence, the subject ran out the back door wall and fled west through an adjacent apartment complex and into a deeply wooded area," the sheriff's office said. Deputies pursued the man but lost sight of him in the woods. A K-9 unit from the Rochester Police Department and a sheriff's K-9 unit attempted to locate the man, but lost his scent in the woods. Deputies made contact with the man's family and advised them to contact the sheriff's office if he returns home.
