Thief steals starter from pickup truck

An unknown thief stole a starter from a pickup truck in a Rochester Hills Wal-Mart parking lot in the 2500 block of S. Adams, authorities said in an incident report released in September.

The incident, which occurred on July 29, happened sometime between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

The victim told sheriff's deputies his red, 2008 Dodge Ram truck was parked in the store parking lot, 2500 S. Adams, and he returned to find some damage and it unable to start.

A mechanic later informed him that the starter was missing.

The loss was valued at $200.

Officers are investigating.
