Health Division offers flu shots at Rochester OPC
The Oakland County Health Division will be offering community flu vaccine clinics throughout October, including a Wednesday, October 3, clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Older Persons' Commission (OPC), 650 Letica Drive in Rochester.
"Protect yourself and loved ones with an annual flu shot," said Leigh-Anne Stafford, health officer for Oakland County. "Vaccination can reduce the risk of getting the flu and help protect the health of others in the community."
Two additional clinics will be held, including one on Tuesday, October 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m at the Costick Center, 28600 11 Mile Road in Farmington Hills, and another on Wednesday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Troy Community Center, 3179 Livernois, Troy.
The flu vaccine protects against as many as four flu viruses which are most likely to occur this season. Flu shots are available for $30. Individuals 65 years and older qualify for a high-dose flu shot, which costs $57. Pre-payment and registration aren't available at the walk-in clinics.
