Holiday Bazaar coming to Rochester High School

The fifth annual Rochester High School Holiday Bazaar is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, providing one of the largest bazaar events in Rochester Hills and the surrounding communities.

The bazaar serves as a holiday shopping extravaganza that takes on a few twists to offer a unique experience to get shoppers into the holiday spirit. The theme this year involves nutcrackers and the meaning of the word "believe." Along with the sights and sounds of carolers and instruments to get shoppers in the spirit, nutcrackers will be placed along the street, and a 16-foot interactive snow globe will be open for photo opportunities. A shuttle service featuring a Clydesdale horse and carriage will help patrons to and from their vehicles.

The bazaar hosts about 200 artists, small business owners and direct sale vendors from Michigan and Ohio.

MacKellar Associates, which is sponsoring this year's event, will distribute a gift to the first 200 shoppers that purchase tickets online, or are first in line. Tickets can be purchased at the door, but event coordinator Patty Schattler recommended ordering online at eventbrite.com.

Online guests will be given an "early bird pass" to shop one hour before the public. Shoppers are encouraged to take advantage of online perks, which include a drawing to win a custom, handcrafted nutcracker by The Blanket Lady, or a specialty item from a donating artist.

Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett will serve as a guest of honor from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m..

"We are thrilled to have Mayor Barnett take time out of his busy schedule to be part of what's becoming one of the largest community bazaars in all of Rochester Hills," Schattler said.
