Rochester's Lagniappe Monday, November 19

Rochester's annual Lagniappe – Creole for "a little something extra" – is scheduled for Monday, November 19, from 6 to 9 p.m., and will serve as the preview for the city's annual Big Bright Light Show.

Merchants of downtown Rochester will offer customers Lagniappe in appreciation for their support throughout the year. Sponsored by the Rochester Downtown Development Authority (DDA), the program begins at E. Fourth Street with help from mayor Rob Ray, Channel 7 and a special appearance by Santa Clause. Lights will shine starting at 8 p.m., with opportunities to meet Santa from 7:15 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This year's event will feature free horse-drawn carriage rides, starting at E. Third and Walnut. The rides will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Multiple holiday music performances will take place, including performances by the Meadowbrook Carolers, Jennifer Kincer and Friends, and others.

The Big Bright Lights Show lights up storefronts nightly, starting at 5 p.m. through midnight through January 6, 2019.
