Threat at Rochester Adams investigated

November 16, 2018

Oakland County sheriff's investigators on Thursday, November 1, worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigations to assess a potential threat at Rochester Adams High School.

The threat, which was related to a posting on the internet, didn't appear to be credible, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office said a midnight shift sergeant assigned to the city of Rochester Hills received information about 10:39 p.m. from an FBI agent in Detroit regarding an internet threat that was reported to them by a citizen from Manhattan, Kansas, about two hours west of Kansas City.

The concerned citizen operated a "blog" and had discovered a post that was threatening in nature. He immediately reported it to the FBI Tip Line. The threat was from an anonymous person.

Notifications were made to the Oakland County sheriff's office command personnel and Rochester Adams High School.

The case remains under investigation.
