Public forums for BHS superintendent search

The search firm looking for a new superintendent for Bloomfield Hills Schools is inviting the community to three public forums to share their thoughts on what they would like in a new superintendent.

The Bloomfield Hills Schools Board of Education hired Ray & Associates, which will be visiting Bloomfield Hills for two full days of forums to gather information. They will be holding staff and family forums, by invitation, as well as community forums that are open to the public and do not require an RSVP.

The open forums will be held Monday, September 9, and Tuesday, September 10, both from 7-9 p.m., at Bloomfield Hills High School Performing Arts Center, 4200 Andover Road.

In addition, a morning session will be held on Tuesday, September 10, from 7:15-8 a.m., at Bloomfield Hills Schools Booth Center, 7273 Wing Lake Road.

The vacancy in the superintendent position occurred at the start of July when superintendent Rob Glass relocated to New York after his wife accepted the job of her dreams at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), and he accepted, a position as superintendent at a school district in Westchester County, New York, the Eastchester Union Free School District, outside New York City.

At their meeting on Thursday, May 23, the Bloomfield Hills Schools' Board of Education appointed Christina (Tina) Kostiuk interim superintendent of the district, beginning July 1, 2019.
