Predicting prison term

Excellent article by Dana Casadei on Predicting Prison Terms and Parole: Efficacy and Dangers (April/Downtown). I found it informative, balanced, well researched and important. I would be curious about one further element in sentencing. Beyond jail, prison or probation, has the court been offered a plan for the offenders’ rehabilitation? In some systems there are excellent alternatives such as the various treatment courts which give the justice system better alternatives. Related in many ways to this article is Malcolm Gladwell’s book Talking to Strangers. In essence, humans are not always good predictors of future behavior. See chapter Getting to Know Der Fuhrer. Thanks for the longform real journalism. Martin I Reisig Birmingham
