Holiday events in downtown Birmingham

The holiday season activities officially kick off this weekend with events scheduled for this Saturday in downtown Birmingham.


This Saturday, November 29, is considered Small Business Saturday with special events scheduled downtown. Enjoy the vibrant holiday atmosphere and festivities throughout the day, including Santa Walk (registration required), free horse-drawn carriage rides in Shain Park (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.), and free hot chocolate, courtesy of Hazel's (visit the tent at the corner of Maple Rd. and North Old Woodward Avenue from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. while supplies last).


Then on Friday, December 5, at 6 p.m. there will be the annual tree lighting in Shain Park and the first day of the annual Winter Markt which will run through Sunday, December 7. On Sunday, December 7, from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. there will be a special appearance of the Snow Queen and the Frozen Princess in Shain Park.
