Metta+Moxie has opened its doors at 800 N. Old Woodward Avenue Suite #210 in Birmingham. Founder Jess Jarrard is a licensed social worker and trauma-informed yoga teacher with a deep passion for helping women reconnect with their sense of self. Her clinical work draws from a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Attachment Theory, and Interpersonal Therapy, creating a grounded, integrative approach to healing. Jarrad built Metta + Moxie to be more than just a therapy practice, but rather “a collective,” created by women, built by dedicated professionals, and sustained by a shared commitment for deep, authentic healing. Fifteen independent practitioners work out of the space, all with different areas of expertise who serve women, families and children. Areas of specialization include: depression; anxiety; grief and loss; relationship challenges and boundary setting; work/life balance and stress management; trauma recovery and nervous system regulation; women’s reproductive health; miscarriage + infant loss; perinatal, prenatal, and postpartum transitions; and mind and body integration. Sarah (Mini) McCabe, director at Metta+Moxie. reflected on the synergy that takes place at Metta+Moxie. “We are all like-minded. We are all focusing on wellness, mental health and creating a safe and beautiful place for healing.”
