The Makeup Lab, a new luxury beauty salon, has opened at 2406 Franklin Road in Bloomfield Township. The salon is owned by local makeup artist Chanel Yono, who brings more than 10 years of industry experience to the business. Yono began her career at Red Salon in Birmingham before opening a private salon suite. As her clientele grew, she sought a larger space and found the ideal location on Franklin Road, allowing her to conveniently serve clients throughout Bloomfield Township, West Bloomfield, Birmingham and beyond. The Makeup Lab’s team includes three hairstylists and three makeup artists offering makeup application, hairstyling, bridal makeup and hair for both in-studio appointments and off-site events, brow shaping, brow tinting, brow lamination, lash lifts, spray tanning and personalized one-on-one makeup lessons. In addition, Yono has developed her own vegan cosmetics line, Chanel Yono Beauty, featuring products such as eyeshadows, blushes and lip liners. A dedicated event space at The Makeup Lab is available for beauty-themed celebrations, including birthday parties, bachelorette parties, and private group events. Guests can participate in hands-on experiences by creating their own custom beauty products, including lip gloss, lipstick, and lip scrub. The Makeup Lab is open by appointment from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
