Pay raise approved for Rochester Hills mayor
Rochester Hills City Council on Monday, June 18, approved granting a two-percent salary increase in 2019 for Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett, as well as department directors. The increase will result in a $2,515 salary budget increase, as well as a step increase of $2,846, which is a merit-based increase, bringing Barnett's total salary in 2019 to $132,120. A Rochester Hills resident told authorities a central air conditioner unit was stolen sometime between Friday, June 8, and Friday, June 15, from his property in the 2800 block of John R. A Rochester Hills man was the victim of credit card fraud on Monday, June 4, when an unknown person gained access to his information and attempted to make several purchases, authorities said. An 18-year-old Rochester Hills woman told authorities she was tricked out of $1,400 in iTunes gift cards on Tuesday, June 5, through a computer scam that made her believe she had a virus on her computer. The woman told the Oakland County Sheriff's Office that she was using her computer when a pop-up advertisement alerted her that she had a virus.
