Birmingham police are investigating a brazen burglary that occurred early Tuesday, April 13, near Maple and Old Woodward, in the city’s downtown area, where thieves stole approximately $50,000 of clothing during a middle of the night hit. Officers responded about 12:50 a.m. to Revive, 200 W. Maple Road, for the report of a breaking and entering in progress. Police said the front door of the men’s clothing store had been shattered and a large amount of clothing had been stolen
An unknown person stole an “A-frame” sidewalk sign sometime on Friday, April 9, or Saturday, April 10, from Birmingham Barbers, 800 S. Adams Road, police said. Birmingham police officers spoke with the owner of the business about 8:25 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, who said his sign was stolen. The sign was last seen on Friday, about 6:20 p.m., and the owner said he noticed it missing the following morning. The loss is estimated at $300. Birmingham police are investigating.
A Bloomfield Township resident had the license plate stolen from the back of his vehicle on Wednesday, April 7, in the 1600 block of Bloomfield Place, police said. Bloomfield Township police said the victim’s 2016 Ford pickup was parked in the area between 10 p.m. on April 6 and 8 a.m. on April 7, when someone stole the plate. Bloomfield Township police report the case is under investigation.
Scrap-metal thieves in Bloomfield Township stole three catalytic converters from two different locations on Friday, April 9, police said.
