12 Days of Takeout for downtown dining
Here's a way to support Birmingham restaurants during the indoor dining ban – and get a little something for yourself during the holiday season. The Birmingham Shopping District (BSD), in partnership with downtown Birmingham restaurants, is offering “12 Days of Takeout” through Sunday, December 20, where for every $50 spent patrons earn $25 in Birmingham Bucks.
Birmingham Bucks are promotional dollars that can be redeemed and used as “money” at many retail stores and restaurants in downtown Birmingham – making this a win-win for restaurants, restaurant patrons and local stores.
“Birmingham Bucks are extremely popular and a way for us to act quickly in support of our restaurants and retailers downtown,” said Ingrid Tighe, executive director of the Birmingham Shopping District. “Restaurants have been closed for nearly one-third of the year and the holidays are usually a very busy time for them. It is also a time when people indulge in the unique cuisines offered by Birmingham restaurants. This incentive is our way of not only supporting the restaurants, but also spreading cheer to help our community continue its holiday traditions.”
“With everything going on in the restaurant industry, many of us have been forced to pivot,” said Adachi restaurant partner Blake George. “At Adachi, we have worked tirelessly to safely elevate the take-home dining experience in a way that matches the ambiance of our restaurant.”
Birmingham Bucks receipts must be submitted online at allinbirmingham.com/visitors/12days by Monday, December 21, and can be used at participating stores and restaurants by Sunday, January 24.
