Vine & Dine at new Erhard showroom

Vine & Dine, a signature event hosted by the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce to benefit Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan, will be held Wednesday, October 4, from 6-9 p.m. at the new Erhard BMW Bloomfield showroom on Telegraph Road north of Square Lake.

This will be the 14th consecutive year for this must-attend event, which offers guests an outstanding selection of domestic and imported wines, a strolling buffet featuring food from some of the areas’ finest restaurants, and musical entertainment.

“The success of the event is unquestionably accredited to the restaurants and wine distributors who participate, along with the generous donors of auction items from local businesses,” said Joe Bauman, president of the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber.

Vine & Dine has a history of being hosted at unique local venues, from Cranbrook Institute of Science, Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center and Somerset’s Neiman Marcus. The first Vine & Dine was held under a tent in the Shain Park parking lot between the Townsend Hotel and The Community House in downtown Birmingham.

This year will highlight the new Erhard BMW Bloomfield showroom on Telegraph Road, which opened recently north of Square Lake Road – not the former one at Maple and Telegraph Road, the chamber pointed out. The new showroom has an open floor plan which can accommodate up to 40 vehicles on its showroom floor. A state of the art facility, it is the oldest BMW dealer in the country.

“We like to showcase different chamber members by bringing 350-plus guests to venues in Oakland County,” said Andrea Foglietta, director of marketing and events at the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber. “It’s a fun night to socialize with colleagues and friends.”

Gleaners Community Food Bank has been feeding and nourishing the hungry in our communities for 40 years. Last year, Gleaners distributed more than 38 million pounds of emergency food to 534 partner schools, soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Oakland, Wayne, Macomb, Livingston and Monroe counties. One dollar received provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.

This year’s Vine & Dine participants include Vinotecca (formerly The Bird & The Bread), Streetside Seafood, Roadside B&G, Bill’s Eat & Drink, Olga’s Kitchen, Cafe ML, Yardbird Smoked Meats, coffee and cupcakes provided by Biggby Coffee Beverly Hills, and Yummy Cupcakes, as well as ML Spirits, Hill’s Fine Wine & Spirits, Birmingham Wine, Granite City Food & Brewery, Elie Wine Co., and Woodberry Wine.

Vine & Dine is consistently a sell out event, with tickets at $85 per person, and special pricing available for groups of 12 or more. There will be valet parking, and guests are encouraged to “dress to impress.”
