Birmingham Fire Open House October 14

Meet local firefighters and learn all about fire safety at Birmingham’s annual fire department Open House on Saturday, October 14, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Adams Fire Station, 572 S. Adams Road in Birmingham.

The popular open house will treat visitors to a variety of fire rescue demonstrations, including EMS and vehicle extrications, along with getting to see HAZMAT apparatus and equipment up close. There will also be the opportunity to operate a fire hose and view portable fire extinguisher demonstrations.

Younger visitors will get to climb on and explore inflatable obstacle courses.

Those attending will also get to enjoy tradition fire house chili while chatting with firefighters, along with other refreshments at the family-friendly event. Everyone is invited to enter a raffle.

“We hope attendees have a great time while learning life-saving fire safety information,” said Birmingham Fire Chief John Connaughton. “We look forward to seeing the community and enjoying a fun afternoon together.”
