Woman walks out with cart of goods
Bloomfield Township police are looking for a woman who attempted to walk out of the Bloomfield Township TJ Maxx store with over $250 worth of merchandise on Monday, November 20.
Loss prevention authorities at the TJ Maxx store, 2139 Telegraph Road, reported to police that at approximately 7:20 p.m., a black female, dressed in a cream colored coat with fur trim, entered the store with a five-year-old black female child, wearing a purple coat. The suspect filled a shopping cart with various merchandise valued at approximately $265.
The woman then entered a checkout line, obtained a reusable TJ Maxx shopping bag from a nearby shelf, and filled it with most of the merchandise. She concealed two unidentified items in her large brown purse, and then walked past all points of purchase without attempting to pay for anything, and attempted to leave the store.
A loss prevention officer confronted the woman and tried to detain her. The suspect left the bag of merchandise in the store and pushed her way past him as she exited the store.
She was gone when police arrived.
