Digital camera stolen off restaurant table
While at a restaurant in the 200 block of S. Old Woodward the night of Saturday, March 21, a Bloomfield Hills woman had her $1,200 digital camera stolen from off her table. She reported the theft at the Birmingham police station the next evening, saying that it was taken between 11:30 p.m. and 2 a.m. Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing. Reckless driver nailed for Kroger retail theft
Bloomfield Township police on March18 at approximately 2:20 p.m. were dispatched to Kroger, located at 3600 W. Maple Road, to investigate a reckless driver and improper parking complaint when they discovered a cart full of stolen alcohol outside the store. Employees of a local coffee shop, located in the 100 block of N. Old Woodward in Birmingham, ended their Thursday, March 12, shift empty-handed after someone took the tip jar off the shop counter. Local minister scammed by congregation poser
A local Birmingham minister was scammed out of roughly $600 after someone posing as a person affiliated with the church texted him asking for money. The minister told Birmingham police that on Saturday, March 7, he got a text message asking him to purchase six $100 Apple gift cards for people in the hospital. He bought the gift cards and sent pictures of the cards, only to later realize the request was a scam. Birmingham police say an investigation is ongoing.

Pair nabbed after theft of items at Target
The Bloomfield Township Police Department on Monday, March 9, responded to Target, located at 2400 S. Telegraph Road, for a retail fraud that just occurred and shortly after arrested two suspects. Target advised that two males stole over $140 in Tequila, shirts, and socks then fled the store in a black Jeep, police said.
